SAGAING DIVISION – The rain of heavy artillery on the villages along the Chindwin River fired from the fleet of junta ships has caused civilians to flee to safety, reported a responsible person from Anyar Pyit Taing Htaung Lay Myar Group.
The junta fleet made up of four warships, seven barges covered with tarpaulin and five log carriers departed from Mindaunt Harbour in Monywa on September 28 morning around 8:30 a.m. and fired heavy weapons into the villages located along the Chindwin River.
“All the villages along the river had to flee. The junta dogs (soldiers) have been firing heavy weapons at the villages along the river. It is not yet clear if there were any civilian casualties. The junta ships have been firing non-stop,” said the responsible person from Anyar Pyit Taing Htaung Lay Myar Group.
