BAGO DIVISION – It was reported that Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) allied forces entered and cleared the junta’s base near Kun Hpe Village in Shwegyin Township, on December 10, and they returned the seized food to the people, BPLA announced.
Terrorist junta forces from that base deserted it on December 7, and the allied forces of KNLA, BPLA and People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) occupied the remaining utilities, food and machines, and returned rice, cooking oil, bean and food stuff to the people.
The Revolutionary Forces reportedly carried out landmine clearances, clearing the area and burned and destroyed buildings and bunkers of the junta.The Karen National Union (KNU) announced on December 12 that the junta troops who left the camps went to join their troops closest to the town.
After the KNLA and allied forces seized the junta’s Taung Chay Yin camp in Shwegyin Township, on November 17, the junta column of Light Infantry Battalion – 352 stationed at Win Ka Lone base, which was providing security support, also deserted the camp.
