SAGAING DIVISION – The township office of National League for Democracy (NLD) in Butalin was known to be destroyed by junta troops around 7 p.m. on May 25.
The person in charge of team updating authentic news in Butalin Township said that more than 50 junta soldiers came and wrecked the NLD office as they suspected members of People’s Defense Force (PDF) were staying at the office venue.
“Junta forces came to the NLD office with the intel that there were PDF in the office and smashed the office. Actually, nobody is staying in that office as it was not in use for a long while,” he said.
Junta soldiers broke the office furniture- chairs, glass cabinets, glass doors as well as destroyed the old documents in the office. This is the fourth time after the coup that junta troops intruded and ransacked the office.
After the coup, terrorist junta troops has been incessantly wrecking the offices of NLD all over the country. Junta-appointed election committee abolished the NLD party in last March and NLD party offices were being tore down all over the country. Recently, in April, NLD’s Tharyarwaddy district and township offices were also demolished.
