KAREN STATE – The KNU officially announced this morning that it has captured all the military council camps, including IB 275, the last military camp of the junta council in Myawaddy, and has successfully captured Myawaddy.
The Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A), led by the Karen National Defense Force (K.N.D.O) and the Joint Revolutionary Forces, gave the last remaining military base of the Terrorist Junta Council’s Infantry Battalion 275 in Myawaddy a chance to surrender, but the camp did not surrender and attacked for reinforcements to arrive. KNU announced that the offensive began on April 8th and was finally captured at 4:20 am on April 11, and a large amount of weapons and ammunition were seized.
At this time, they have attacked and occupied all the junta council camps in Myawaddy City and will continue to clear the remnants of the junta council’s soldiers. The KNU announced that the public should not panic but cooperate.
It is learned that the Terrorist War Council came and dropped a 500-pound bomb on the outskirts of Myawaddy city at around 11:00 a.m.
The 200 junta council troops who fled from the 275th battalion are waiting for asylum in Thailand with weapons, but they have not been granted asylum at the moment. As a result, they are helpless and worried that the revolutionary forces will come and attack.
