SHAN STATE – The MNDAA released a statement on Tuesday evening (December 12) that the soldiers of the Kokang Army (MNDAA) were injured in a junta ambush attack.
On December 11 at noon, the military council troops attacked the MNDAA’s fort near Hongshihtoke Hao Village in Tarshwe Htan Village Tract, Shisham region, and the MNDAA reportedly fought back. It is informed that six MNDAA members were injured during the fight.
In addition, on the afternoon of December 11, when MNDAA soldiers were clearing mines along the road in the southwest of the Mupan (Theinni) District, some soldiers were injured in a mine accident. While the wounded were being taken to the hospital for treatment, heavy weapons were fired from the junta military operation command 16, and one of the MNDAA soldiers was hit and killed by a shrapnel injury.
The MNDAA has been fighting the junta forces near Laukkai City for the past few days and has occupied some military council camps.
It is reported that officials of the Three Brotherhood Alliance Army including the MNDAA, and the military council had a dialogue meeting with the engagement of the Chinese government. While such a meeting was happening, on December 11 and 12, the MNDAA troops didn’t launch any attack but there had been a clash due to an ambush attack by the military council troops.
