BAGO DIVISION – The Bago People’s Defense Force reported that 15 junta soldiers were killed in their attack on Saikphu Mountain Camp last Saturday (September 9).
On the morning of September 9, the PDF joint team attacked the Saikphu Mountain Camp, near the 162-milepost of the Taung Ngu highway, where 20 military council forces are stationed.
The battle lasted for almost 30 minutes and 15 members of the military council were killed, as announced in the statement issued by Bago PDF.
It is also mentioned that two members of the People’s Defense Group were injured (not in a critical state) in that battle.
It is known that the battalion-3501 of Taungu District, and 16 members from the West Yoma local defense group formed an alliance and raided the junta camp.
It has also been reported that the joint People’s Defense Force planned to seize the camp, but they had to retreat due to insufficient ammunition.
There has been no news released about the junta side’s causalities after the attack on the camp. Although the media contacted Major General Zaw Min Tun, the spokesperson of the Military Council through the telephone, he did not answer.
