MYANMAR-The PSLF/TNLA News and Information Department announced that within the five-day period since the start of Operation 1027 (Part 2) by the Northern Alliance, 53 members of the terrorist military junta council, including a major, surrendered their weapons.
“Within just five days of the battle, 53 members of the military council’s forces, including one major, four captains, one police chief, six senior sergeants, one police sergeant (traffic control), eleven sergeants, nine deputy sergeants, one police officer, and nineteen soldiers, surrendered their weapons to the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA),” stated the PSLF/TNLA News and Information Department.
On June 26, it was also reported that over 50 various weapons were seized from the Kantkaw military base and other military bases in Naung Cho, and that 17 members of the terrorist military junta council’s forces surrendered their weapons to the TNLA.
Operation 1027 (Part 2) began on June 25 and is being carried out in Ta’ang State by the Second Military Region in Naung Cho, Kyaukme, Thibaw, Mogok and the Third Military Region in Momeik.
