TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Aung Takhon Fish Market, located in Kyat Sar Pyin Residential Ward, Dawei City, was attacked by a drone on Monday, October 23, in the afternoon, injuring two children nearby.
The market might have been established by the junta minister and local businessmen after the coup and had faced substantial criticism.
“A grenade was dropped near the building, and we couldn’t hear much due to the drone attack,” said a resident.
An ambulance transported two children wounded during the attack, but the details of their injuries remain unknown. Junta soldiers and the police conducted an inspection at the site of the bombing. The group responsible for the attack remains unidentified.
This market is situated on the outskirts of Dawei and has caused vendors from nearby markets to buy shops from this market and relocate. Currently, there are no vendors or shoppers at this market.
Aung Takhon – Fish Market Dawei has denied the reports on their social media.
