SAGAING DIVISION – A soldier from the Mei Hmaung Guerrilla People’s Defence Force said that two units of the People’s Defence Forces joined to launch a mine attack on the junta council soldiers near the 16-beded district hospital in Salingyi Township.
Brother Defence Force reported that the junta council soldiers who came out of the courtyard of the Myanmar Yansi Company in Salingyi Township were attacked near the 16-beded district hospital at around 8:00 a.m. on October 7.
The soldier of Mae Hmaung Guerrilla Force shared, citing eyewitness reports that three junta troops were killed and two were seriously wounded.
“They came out from Yansi. The force was more than 30. When they arrived at the mine field, we detonated,” said the officer in charge of the Mae Hmaung Guerrilla People’s Defence Force. However, it has not been able to independently confirm the casualties of the Junta Council Army.
It has been informed that the attack was carried out by the 16th Battalion, 1st Company of Brother Defence Force and Mae Hmaung Guerrilla Army.
Salingyi Township residents said that thousands of local residents from six nearby villages have been fleeing for more than four months due to the shootings and killings of the military council troops in the compound of the Myanmar Wan Pao Company project.
In addition, the residents said that due to the large number of people fleeing the war, they also need food and shelter.
The People’s Defence Forces said that they were in need of weapons and ammunition because junta council troops are launching offensives in Yinmabin, Salingyi, Kani and Pale Townships.
