SHAN STATE – The Pa’O National Liberation Army (PNLA) reported that the junta subordinate Pa’O National Organisation (PNO) militia killed a civilian and abducted another in Htanyantai Village in Hsihseng Township.
At around 7 a.m. on July 3, two residents of Htanyantai Village, Mr. Khun Ta Ngwe and Mr. Khun Maung Pei were returning home after keeping watch at a funeral wake when they were detained for no reason by the PNO forces stationed in the village.
PNO forces then shot dead Mr. Khun Ta Ngwe in the center of the village and dragged Mr. Khun Maung Pei out of the village, threatening to kill the residents of the village who followed them. It is said that contact has been lost with Mr. Khun Maung Pei since.
The body of Mr. Khun Ta Ngwe was retrieved by the residents of the village on July 4 evening despite threats from the PNO forces and it is said that the terrorist junta and PNO forces are still stationed in Htanyantai Village and the residents are still blocked from leaving the village.
