MAGWAY DIVISION – PDF comrades repaired the road section on the Saw – Seik Phyu Road after Cyclone Mocha hit, making it difficult to travel.
On Sunday (May 14), around 20 comrades cleaned up the areas affected by flooding and landslides. They also cleared fallen trees, according to Mr. Michael, an official of PDF.
“It’s a severe case because water is flowing down from the mountains. We cleared the mud and silt that remained on the road after the flooding. We used water pumps (to drain the water) because cars couldn’t pass through. We still have to clean it up today (May 15),” he said.
Due to the impact of Cyclone Mocha, heavy rain had been falling since Saturday (May 13), resulting in frequent landslides and blockages on the Saw – Seik Phyu Road Section during heavy rainfall.
Although Seik Phyu Barmahti camp was not heavily affected by Cyclone Mocha, PDF comrades are concerned about possible junta airstrikes now that the weather has cleared up.
