KAREN STATE – KNU (Karen National Union) Central issued a statement on July 1, saying that 270 junta council troops were reportedly killed and more than 150 were injured during the battles between the KNDO (Karen National Defence Organisation) and the fascist junta council in Nyaunglebin district, within six months.
The military conditions in Natthankwin-Kyaukkyi-Muthe, the border to brigade 5 territory in the KNDO battalion 3 territory, during January 1 and June 30, within six months, were released on July 1.
It was known that 96 battles broke out against the junta council within six months. During those battles, more than 270 junta council troops were said to have been killed, four KNDO comrades sacrificed their lives for the country and 17 comrades were injured.
Moreover, 62 horses which were used by the junta council to transport rations, were said to have been killed and 40 horses were injured. Three junta council vehicles and 7 motorcycles were also damaged.
It was stated that KNDO managed to confiscate one MA-1 assault rifle, 1200 MA bullets, five M-14 grenades, six 60mm bombs and three horses.
KNLA (Karen National Liberation Army) and PDF (People Defense Force) columns are along with KNDO in the KNU (Karen National Union) Nyaunglebin district territory. There are also cooperated operations in the area.
As the junta council conducted aerial bombardments and heavy weapon attacks, the civilians have been forced to flee and there were also civilian casualties.
