TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Over 10 houses belonging to the innocent people in Tanintharyi Division had been burnt down and destroyed by the junta soldiers, in July, according to the local sources.
These include five houses in Dawei Township, seven in Longlon Township and two in Tanintharyi Township.
Most of the burnt houses were said to be in Thingyantone Village of Dawei Township, Phwabokpyin, Taungminpyaung, Muuduu and Khamaungtaw villages of Longlon Township and Chaungkaphat and Theinkhon villages of Tanintharyi Township. The junta soldiers not only burnt down the houses but also set fire to patrol station, trishaw, vehicles, agricultural equipments and hundreds of litres of patrol.
It was mentioned that the junta soldiers always set fire to the houses that are empty due to the people’s fleeing and those in the vicinity of battlefield with various reasons while penetrating the villages.
Moreover, the junta forces destroyed 18 houses in Tanintharyi Division during last June, according to the reports.
