TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Locals reported that the arsonist junta soldiers set on fire the houses of displaced people in Ban La Mut Village of Tanintharyi Township, while they had been forced to leave their homes, after there was skirmish between anti-junta Resistance Forces and the terrorist junta forces in the village.
It was reported that the sound of gunfire from both sides before 5:00 p.m., and afterwards, the nefarious junta soldiers intentionally ignited the civilians’ houses in Kyaung Kone section of Ban La Mut Village.
“As of 6:00 p.m., on June 30, I heard that three houses have been destroyed by fire. Smoke was still coming out,” said a resident.
The number of houses burned and the details of the clashes on both sides have not yet been confirmed.
Afterwards, the local residents said that they no longer heard the sound of gunfire.
All of the residents of the Ban La Mut Village had been forced to run away from their homes and the atrocious junta forces had been stationed at the village.
It was said that those atrocious junta forces have been recklessly firing mortar shells day and night since the last four days.
On June 28, some of the mortar shells fired by them landed and exploded near a school in West Maw Ton Village.
