TANINTHARYI DIVISION – A clash broke out after junta council’s military camp in Heindar Village being attacked by revolutionary forces.
Locals reported that there was a fierce battle near the military base at around 11 a.m. on December 26. The battle lasted about 30 min and heavy and small armed were fired.
A loud explosion was heard first followed by gun shots. There was non- stop firing of machine guns. As the battles broke out frequently, the villagers got used to it and didn’t flee, a Heindar local resident said.
The junta army side fired dozens of heavy weapons towards the gardens at the east side of their camp. The casualties of both troops and local residents are not yet known.
Fightings broke out in the second and third week of last November after the military council camp in Heindar Village was attacked. There has been no announcement which revolutionary force carried out the attack towards junta troops in Heindar Village, including the clash on December 26.
Since last year December, the fascist army soldiers set up strong base and have been stationing in colonial-era buildings and mining company-owned buildings located at the entrance to Heindar Village.
About 50 junta thugs are regularly stationed at the military camp in Heindar Village, locals said.
