KAREN STATE – Thai media reported that the junta soldiers that fled from infantry battalion 275 in Myawaddy were digging trenches and preparing for defense in the compound of No. 2 Friendship Bridge as they are still not allowed to cross into Thailand for shelter.
The junta soldiers that fled their base waited to be allowed to take shelter in Thailand but as there have been no updates, they were seen putting up benches as barricades, digging trenches and building bunkers. Meanwhile, Thailand military allowed eight injured junta soldiers to get treatment at a hospital in Maesot of Thailand.
Thai media stated that the junta soldiers are preparing defenses as they are afraid of getting attacked by revolutionary forces in the compound of the bridge connecting the two nations and that the junta soldiers have yet to give up their weapons.
At present, Thailand has shut down the No. 2 Friendship Bridge and the Thai military has increased security at the bridge.
