MYANMAR – It was reported that the owners of supermarkets in major cities throughout Myanmar and businessmen have been forced to sign the agreement form to sell the rice stored in the shopping centers at the price set by the military council and to send the daily transaction lists.
Starting from June 27, supermarkets and all shopping centers must sell from 1 kg bags, and the basic price is between 3,500 Kyats and 3,800 Kyats per 1 kg bag of Shwe Bo Paw San rice, Ayeyarwaddy Paw San is to be sold from 3000 kyats to 3300 kyats per 1 Kg, and the 90 days rice is set to sell at a price of 2200 to 2500 kyats per 1 kg package.
If new types of rice are sold in packages, only the price of bag, the service charge of not more than 1 percent, not more than 3% of transportation/storage cost, and not more than 4% profit for the manufacturer are allowed to be added in the targeted price.
In addition, junta council instructed the shopping centers and supermarkets to sell rice without shortage, to take responsibility for the shortage of things, and asked to sign that they will cooperate when the fascist council checks the daily sales list and prices.
Supermarket and shopping center store owners and businessmen have been forced to sign that they understood that they would be punished if they violated the instructions set by the military council.
