MYANMAR – The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that a total of 3,685 innocent people had been killed by terrorist junta forces across Myanmar, after over two years of the bloody coup d’état in Myanmar.
It has been reported that 19,056 people are currently under detention and 6,464 out of them have been sentenced, according to the data compiled by AAPP from 1 February 2021 to 22 June 2023.
Of those convicted, a total of 115 death row prisoners were sentenced to death in connection with the spring revolution and are being detained in prison. A total of 121 people had been sentenced in absentia including 42 people sentenced to death. It brings the total to 157 people who have been sentenced to death.
Currently, a total of 4,343 people have been released including 24 people on bail. The reported figures were compiled by AAPP within their range and the actual casualties are likely to be higher. It was said that if more data is collected, it will be added further.
AAPP can be contacted to provide information of anyone who has been abducted, detained and prosecuted during Spring Revolution such as leaders of civil society organizations, civilians, activists, journalists, CDM workers and others from various fields including fallen heroes.
