MYANMAR – According to the Ministry of Defense of the NUG, military training was given to nearly 1,000 people who wanted to serve as PDF forces among those who sought refuge due to the military service law of the coup d’état.
Due to the conscription law, there are young people who have taken refuge in the nearby liberated areas. Among them, there are those who choose the armed revolution, NUG said.
According to the NUG Ministry of Defense, there were 959 PDF soldiers who were screened and given basic military training to those who took refuge.
That number is in the Southern Military Region under NUG. It is only a list of those who took refuge in the number (3) Military Command.
Other NUG-affiliated regiments have also announced in recent months that there have been many PDF recruits due to the conscription law.
The Military Council enacted the conscription law last February, recruiting young men between the ages of 18 and 35. With the military service law, military training has been conducted two batches, and the military council has recruited nearly 9,000 personnel.
