CHIN STATE – Displaced people in Paletwa town of Chin State and people living in the Kalatan Riverbank were relocated to the Cyclone Shelter on the morning of May 13.
The Cyclone Shelter of Paletwa town is a building that can accommodate more than 3000 people. People in the residential areas that will be less affected by the cyclone are also relocated to schools, monasteries, and churches.
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a red alert for seven townships in Rakhine State, including Sittwe. DMH also warned about Cyclone Mocha’s potential hazard to the neighbouring Paletwa township, Chin State.
