BAGO DIVISION- In the western part of Bago, Paunde Township, the military council sealed off the home of a woman who had been arrested, according to locals.
It is reported that the house of 50-year-old detainee Ms. Hla Hla Win on Tarpon Road, Market 2 Quarter in Paunde Town was sealed off at around 10 a.m. on December 28.
“When checking her phone, it was found out that she has been sending support (money) to PDF and thus her house was confiscated by the state (as public property),” said a male resident.
A female resident also said that Ms. Hla Hla Win was a money transfer operator with Wave and K Pay services, and she was arrested at her home by military council soldiers on November 26 evening.
At the time of her arrest, she had been taken along with her daughter and husband but on the next day, her husband and daughter were released but she was still detained.
On December 26, in the western part of Bago, Thaekone Township, the 25-year-old Mr. Kyaw Ye Thu, a former vice president of the Pyay University Student Union who lives in Watpote Quarter, was sentenced to 10 years in prison under section 50(j) and 5 years under section 52(a) respectively, a total of 15 years for being a PDF supporter.
