BAGO DIVISION – The junta council soldiers abducted three youths under 18, two businessmen, and NLD Township Vice-President in Paungde Town, on Tuesday (June 27).
They live at Min Kwat 3 Residential Ward in Paungde Downtown and were illegally arrested at their homes.
“We don’t know why they were abducted and they all are calm people. They are investigated at Mhat Tine Region Police Station,” said the resident.
The victims are Salai Kyin Htoe Tang, 60 years old NLD Township Vice-President, his two sons, 15 and 17, Mr. Kyaw Soe, a businessman and NLD Party member, Mr. Pha Tut, a businessman and one student, 17, who passed the matriculation exam this year.
Mr. Kyaw Soe was abducted because the junta troops couldn’t abduct his son. One youth who lived at Sanda Yone Residential Ward was abducted because the junta soldiers couldn’t find his father who is the former junta administrator in Min Kwat 3 Residential Ward.
The victims’ details are still being investigated. The junta soldiers frequently abducted in Paungde and also abducted Mr. Myint Htun, a Township Central Executive Committee in Paungde last April. He was also murdered by the junta council at the interrogation center.
The junta council started the martial law at Paungde, Pauk Khaung, Natalin, and Oakpho Townships from the west of Bago and Htantapin Township from the east of Bago on February 2.
