SHAN STATE (SOUTH) – Eight Civilians of Ywangan Town have been accused as supporting People’s Defence Force (PDF) and abducted by junta members since June 17, sources close to the family said they have not been able to contact the victims.
Six women and four men from Zaytan and Ywama wards have been reportedly captured after the complaint from junta lackey Pyu Saw Htee leader Phoe Lone and Zaytan ward administrator Phoe La Kon.
“The niece of Pyu Saw Htee leader Phoe Lone and her husband Pho Set had a quarrel. After the fight, Pyu’s leader reported to junta army that Pho Set’s family supports PDF, then the couple, the mother, the uncle, aunty and sisters were abducted. In addition, another relative couple, and three others were also abducted,” said a person close to the abductee family.
Among the people abducted, the mother and sister of Pho Set were released on June 19, but eight others have been detained at the interrogation camp of Eastern Command in Taunggyi. The family members were also not allowed to see.
The local residents gave confirmation that the abductees are not related to PDF but they have not been released. Family members have been worried as those people abducted at interrogation camp were usually tortured by junta soldiers.
The junta lackey Pyu leader Phoe lone has been staying at Ywangan general administration office and always informed about the PDF news to the military council forces. He is also been selling drugs with the permission of the junta council forces.
The ward administrator Phoe La Kon is the one who has been forcefully collecting money from house to house for military service fees and conscripting youths in junta army. Due to reporting by two of them, many PDFs were captured before.
