MANDALAY DIVISION – Local residents reported that junta lackey Thein Lwin Soe (aka) Kyaukkhel was shot dead in Pyawbwe Township.
A resident of Paypinshay Village, Thein Lwin Soe was attacked by unknown gunmen in front of the village clinic on May 4.
He was reported to have sent information on the mines planted by revolutionary forces to the junta forces and had also collected the name lists of PDF soldiers, political activists and NLD supporters and submitted them to the junta council.
“Thein Lwin Soe from Paypinshay Village was shot early this morning (May 4) and died on the spot. When contacted, junta forces replied that they dare not come personally and only sent a funeral car. The car collected his body. Thein Lwin Soe worked as an agent for cattle. When the PDF planted mines after finding out about a junta offensive, he reported it to the junta forces which led to the fall of a PDF soldier. PDF forces, activists and NLD supporters had long since fled their homes because of his antics. The position of the village chief has been vacant for quite some time as no one dares to take it,” said a local resident.
On March 2, when junta forces launched an offensive between Paypinshay Village and Ywarthit Village in Pyawbwe Township, PDF forces prepared to attack them with mines, but the junta forces were able to avoid the mines due to a tip off and killed Mr. Khant Min Thaw, a 16 year old PDF soldier. It is said that Thein Lwin Soe was the one that informed the junta forces of the attack in the incident.
