KAREN STATE – Kyainseikgyi People’s Administration Body (PAB) released a request, appealing the local people of Kyainseikgyi Township, Karen State not to go near the junta camps, junta hideout posts and places where junta troops are active.
They also warned to stay away from the surroundings of military sites in the township and not to go out and to stay inside indoors if they hear sounds of gunfire.
The PAB mentioned that the junta forces would target and attack the civilians when there are clashes and would circulate fake news that revolutionary forces attacked the civilians.
Recently on June 2, the coalition of Karen National Union (KNU) and People’s Defence Force (PDF) attacked several junta camps including the Kyainseikgyi Police Station. In response, junta troops fired heavy weapons into civilian zones and as a result, four people including children and a monk were killed and more than three people were injuried.
Commander Aung San Shar of Special Operation Force (SOF) of PDF said that although the coalition forces limited their attack in order to not harm the civilians, junta targeted and attacked the civilian places with airstrikes, heavy weapons.
He added that the junta’s responses (to their attacks) are very cruel. “I mean they should attack us face to face. They can counter attack us. It doesn’t matter. But attacking religious buildings, civilian wards and civilians (like they’re doinh now) is a horrible thing to do,” said Commander Aung San Shar.
