RAKHINE STATE- It has been reported that in Sittwe Myoma police station, junta police opened the case for KTV owner and 60 staffs who were abducted at the end of July in Sittwe.
A responsible person from Sittwe Police Station said that they searched two KTVs on July 30 around midnight. On the next day( July 31), the abductees were charged and released on bail. They have to face the charges.
The white house KTV located in Western Sanpya ward, Sittwe Township and Sweet dream KTV in Mingan ward were opened case under section 32.
In addition, Rock and Roll KTV located in Makyeemyaing ward, Sittway Township was also raided by many force of junta soldiers and police.
A lawyer from Sittwe Township said that it can be sentenced to one lakh kyats fine or 3 years in prison or both sentences under the section 32 of the Television and Video Act.
Junta announced in 2023 that restaurants, KTV, Bars, Stage Music, Night clubs and massage parlour can only be operated with license and those without license need to be closed by July 5.
After that announcement, junta checked KTV at Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing Division, Kachin State, Kayin State, Myawaddy, Mawlymine and also Koraoke at Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State.
