SHAN STATE – Two jet fighters of the terrorist junta council carried out at least 23 bombings, using 500lb bombs, on three villages in Western Pekhon Township, Southern Shan State, according to Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) Battalion 11 (B-11).
At around 4 a.m. on May 5, without any ongoing battles in the area, two junta jet fighters bombed 500lb bombs on a village in south-west Pekhon Township three times. Then from 5 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Salone (South) Village was bombed and attacked with 500lb bombs and missiles at least 16 times and Khaungei Village was also bombed with 500lb bombs four times around 5:30 a.m.
Due to said brutal attacks, two civilians from Salone (South) Village suffered bleeding from their ears and eyes and over 30 houses were destroyed. Houses were also destroyed in Khaungei Village.
In addition, the terrorist junta council conducted more aerial bombings at past 3:30 p.m. on May 5 and the junta base in Pekhon also fired heavy artillery shells.
KNDF B-11 (Pekhon) warned civilians to dig out bomb shelters and to take shelter immediately if they hear junta jets as the junta council tend to carry out attacks after conducting surveillance by planes.
