KARENNI STATE- It has been reported that there are many cases of seasonal flu in the Thae Phyu Kone refugee camp in the western part of Hpruso Township and need medical and related aid.
According to one of the assistants, flu outbreaks have occurred due to continuous rain since early September, and they are relying only on a self-help clinic.
“There is a need for rain due to tarpaulins rotting and cracking when they sleep and have a cold. Although the fever is gone, the cough remains for about 2 weeks. Children are worse. There is no medicine to take and not enough,” he said.
More than 100 houses and nearly 1,000 people live in Thae Phyu Kone refugee camp, and more than 300 people are sick, said a local.
There is not only the current seasonal flu, but also a runny nose, cough, asthma, and malaria, he continued.
It’s been reported that there is a continuous shortage of medicines in the Karenni region because the Military Council troops are conducting a strict inspection at the entrance of Pekon town in the Southern Shan State and are confiscating all medicines and related materials.
