KARENNI STATE – An official of the Karenni Army warned the locals not to return home yet since there were reports of injuries due to landmines planted by the military council in Mobye Town.
It is said that the military council, which has been stationed in Mobye Town for over a year, has planted hundreds of landmines in residential areas.
“On November 18, a resident of Dong Duhtan Quarter who returned home to get rice reportedly stepped on a landmine and lost a leg. Therefore, we would like to request you not to return home hastily,” the official said.
It is reported that the Karenni Army initially seized eight junta camps in Mobye Town and nearby villages, such as Wari Suphali, Dong Duhtan Pwelkone 3, Pwelkone 1, Nyaungwine, Peking Kawkhu, Saungkan and Sikar 2, where the military troops were stationed.
Similarly, the tactically important Sattawyar Hill Camp of Mobye City was occupied by the Karenni Army on November 15.
However, the Karenni Joint Force is still trying to capture all the military council bases in Mobye and secure the town.
