SAGAING DIVISION – Black Falcon Guerrilla Force announced on September 29 that they had captured Captain Aung Phyo Thein, a junta medical officer serving at the junta council’s North Western Command based in Monywa.
The 35 year old junta captain was reportedly arrested at his house in Aungmingalar Ward of Monywa around 7 a.m. on September 4.
“He was with his wife at their home. We didn’t do anything to the wife, only arrested the (junta) captain,” said the Black Falcon Guerrilla Force leader Demon.
He added that one Hyundai made vehicle, two mobile phones, one laptop and military and citizen identification cards were also seized when arresting Captain Aung Phyo Thein.
The seized identification cards revealed that he was a junta medical officer of captain rank and the arrested captain himself admitted to working at an army clinic in the North Western Command.
The junta captain was said to be detained at the frontlines of Black Falcon Guerrilla Force for around two days and transferred to the custody of Monywa Township People’s Defence Force on September 6.
Following the capture of Captain Aung Phyo Thein, junta forces blocked off the entire Monywa City to conduct searches and also launched offensives and owing to the security concerns arising from that, the capture of the junta officer was only made public now.
