SHAN STATE – A TNLA news and information officer confirmed that a battle broke out this morning between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the terrorist junta army near Se Lang Village in Muse Township, Northern Shan State.
He said the battle started at 10:00 a.m. on July 29 and lasted for more than 6 hours.
“The incident took place today on the side of the pagoda hill near the village of Se Lang in Muse Township. The junta army and the Pyithusit militia joint forces attacked the TNLA area so the battle broke out,” said the TNLA information officer.
It is not yet known if there were any casualties among the junta council forces during the battle, but the TNLA side was said to be not harmed.
“While the battle was going on, the junta army in the 105th mile area provided artillery support. The military council army based in Namphaktar also fired with heavy weapons,” said the TNLA news and information officer.
On July 23rd, TNLA and the junta council had a fierce battle in Se Lang Village.
At that time, the military council army initiated the offensive and TNLA retaliated, killing three of the terrorist army soldiers, TNLA informed.
The TNLA and the junta council have fought about seven times in July, and the junta council has used heavy artillery as well as airstrikes. The battles took place in Northern Shan State areas such as Kyaukme, Kutkai, Muse and Lashio Townships.
