MON STATE- According to the community of Mawlamyaing private hospital, the military council took action to temporarily close the “Aye Thandar” private hospital for three months starting on May 1, since CDM staff were employed at the hospital in Mawlamyaing.
According to the instructions of the Mon State Government under the Military Council, the hospital was inspected by the State Health Department and was temporarily closed down for 3 months due to the employment of CDM doctors and nurses.
“Aye Thandar Hospital was warned by the Military Council for appointing CDM staff when the government staff joined CDMs after the coup d’état. The doctors from 300 bedded military hospital are also working (part-time) there and the news leaked from them. Junta officers investigate the hospital on receiving tips,” said one of the healthcare workers.
Last February, the State Department of Health checked the private hospitals, and clinics to see whether the CDM healthcare workers, nurses, and doctors were appointed.
Aye Thandar Hospital, with about 100 doctors, nurses, and other health workers, provides general healthcare services as well as surgeries.
After the coup d’état by the military council, the medical treatment licenses of CDM health workers were suspended and whether they were employed in private clinics were checked and taken action.
