MANDALAY DIVISION – Local residents reported that the head monk from Sakhama Village in Myingyan Township passed away after getting shot by junta forces.
At around 9:30 p.m. on June 22, junta hidden sentries between the villages of Mgyinmg and Sakhama on Myopat Road in Myingyan Township opened fire on the social volunteer car transporting an emergency patient from the village to Myingyan Town with the monk on board who passed away from the shooting.
“The patient was in an emergency condition so the monk personally went along to send the patient to the hospital. They were shot at the gate just at the exit of Myingyan. There was a logo of the social volunteer group on the car and the monk was sitting in the front as well. It was only around 9:30 p.m. The monk always personally accompany emergency patients when sending them to hospital to prevent harm to the civilians. Now he has passed away after getting shot by junta forces,” explained a resident.
Meanwhile, the mouthpieces of the junta regime such as Myanmar National Post, People Media and junta lobby telegram channels tried to spread lies that the monk was killed by People’s Defence Forces with images of the deceased monk.
Myingyan based Myingyan Black Tiger PDF (MBT) released a statement confirming that it was the junta council troops that killed Ven. Uttama of Sakhama Village and clarified that MBT is currently not in Myingyan and has not conducted any missions in the recent days.
The terrorist junta council and its mouthpieces also initially claimed that PDF forces were the culprit behind the killing of Win Neimmaita Yone Head Monk who was a member of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee from Nganzun Township, Mandalay Division on June 19 but their lies were exposed by the witness statement of Kanthonesint Monk who revealed that the junta forces committed the killing.
