MANDALAY DIVISION – The Myingyan – Nabuaing Road section in Myingyan Township is being monitored by the Junta Council, and the Myingyan Community Public Action Committee warns people not to pass through it.
The Junta Council’s Myingyan district administration has instructed the employees not to use the Myingyan – Nabuaing road, Myingyan – Natogyi road sections from May 8th due to the security situation. On May 27, the Myingyan Public Action Committee informed that the Junta Council Army is carrying out actions to mislead between the public and the PDF soldiers on the Myingyan – Nabuaing Road section after their release.
The Junta Council Army and Pyu Saw Htee were setting up the gates in the Myingyan -Nabuaing Road area, near Laethit village, Thityon Village, and Kukke Police Station, near Kukke Lake and Kukke Industrial Training School. An official of the Myingyan Community Action Committee said that gates are opened and they are inspecting people and demanding tolls from cars.
Based on these gates, the junta council forces are robbing tourist cars, looting phones, gold, and money from the drivers and passengers of the trucks to confuse the people and the PDFs, according to the Myingyan Public Action Committee.
“We are announcing this because there have been more robberies on the Nabui-Myingyan road,” said an official of the Myingyan Community Action Committee.
On the evening of May 18, a 65-year-old retired teacher from Myingyan was killed when soldiers of the junta council from the Kukke Lake checkpoint opened fire on a tourist vehicle on the Mandalay-Myingyan road.
Therefore, the Myingyan Community Action Committee has requested vehicles to bypass the Myingyan-Nabuaing Road section. The junta council army was stationed in Nabuaing Village and killed three people on May 22nd, and on May 25th, a sick grandma died after being hit by a weapon fired by them.
