MYANMAR – The Chinese Government announced on May 27 that the terrorist junta council had transferred more than 49,000 people suspected of involvement in online scam (Zhàpiàn) to China.
Since July 2023 to the present, the junta council has handed over more than 49,000 suspects related to the crimes of telecom and online to the Chinese government, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) announced.
Since the beginning of 2023, there has been an increase in the case of online scam (Zhàpiàn) involving Chinese nationals in northern Shan State, as well as Criminal offenses including illegal border crossings and illegal detention often occurred. China’s aggressive crackdown on crimes has produced significant results.
In the past five years, China has cracked down on more than 1.94 million telecom and online scams. At present, the number of online scam cases has been decreasing for eight consecutive months. It was said that crimes related to online scam (Zhàpiàn) can be significantly reduced.
