MYANMAR- An official from the Ministry of Electricity in (Nay Pyi Taw) stated that there had been a power outage due to System Breakdown in Myanmar.
“At around 2:10 a.m., on April 30, there is a nationwide system breakdown and nationwide blackout. Important ministry offices have been temporarily powered by diesel generators. Power outage is everywhere and the responsible staff are trying to solve the problem now,” said an official from Nay Pyi Taw Ministry of Electricity.
The current power outage situation is based on the availability of power (supplied by generators), and the higher electricity consumption during the summer. He said that the availability of hydroelectricity is almost non-existent, and they mainly use the electricity produced by natural gas generators.
