KAREN STATE – The Cobra column announced that eight junta soldiers were killed and 27 wounded when they attacked the junta soldiers invading Lat Khat Mountain and Kyauk mine area.
On May 11, there was an all-day long battle with heavy weapons, and two members of People’s Defense Force (PDF) were injured and no known casualties on junta side. Again on May 12, when the junta army entered the outpost occupied by Cobra column and the joint forces, a clash took place, killing four junta soldiers and injuring 12. It is also reported that 4 soldiers from the cobra column and joint forces were also injured.
Moreover, on May 13, the junta army continuously fired with heavy weapons and a battle occurred, killing four junta soldiers and injuring 15 others. It is said that one PDF member fell and four others were injured due to the continuous firing of heavy weapons by the junta army.
The attacks were jointly carried out by Cobra Column (1) of KNU/KNLA Brigade 6, Black Leopard column (1), Federal Wings and Golden Eagle, and there were was light infantry battalion (118), La (8), infantry battalion (275) and BGF (1019) battalion from junta side.
