MAGWAY DIVISION – Pakokku District Battalion 17 said that primary school students at an interim education school under the National Unity Government (NUG) in Myaing Township, Pakokku District were fed anthelmintics on May 1.
“We fed anthelmintics to 536 primary school aged children at the interim school and we are working to do the same at all interim schools,” said the medical officer from the battalion.
Ms. EP, the medical officer of Battalion 17, originally from the department of health in Sagaing Township had joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) after the terrorist junta council staged the military coup in 2021. She then returned to her hometown in Myaing and became the medical officer of Battalion 17. She has also opened a clinic near the battalion so the local people can receive medical treatment.
She also informed that there are issues with insufficient medicine for the primary school aged children in Myaing Township.
