MANDALAY DIVISION – It has been reported that a junta council township police officer, Thet Swe, was said to have been shot dead while he was sitting in a tea shop in Myotha Town, Nganzun Township, Mandalay Division.
The revolutionary forces managed to confiscate a gun and ammunition from him.
Mr. Thant, the leader of the Red Dragon Guerrilla force, mentioned that at around 8:15 a.m. on June 29, while they were setting up hidden sentry posts on the Nganzun-Myotha road section in Myotha Township, they received the information in advance that the Nganzun Township police officer and his follower in mufti have left Myotha Industrial Zone by a motorcycle.
Following that, the revolutionary forces shot them while they were sitting in a tea shop. Due to the shooting, the township police officer was killed at the scene while his follower escaped.
Mr. Thant mentioned that “they dismantled the gun and carried it with themselves. We assumed that they patrolled the Industrial zone. We caught them at a tea shop. His follower ran into the market. When he was among the civilians, it wasn’t convenient to attack him.
The Red Dragon Guerrilla force said that they confiscated one G-3 gun, twelve 7.62 mm bullets, three grenades, passport photos and some documents from the police officer.
