MANDALAY DIVISION – Residents reported that junta subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militants robbed a house located to the south of the high school and near Myothar Police Station in Nganzun Township on May 2 night, beat up the house owner and took off with three million Kyats and five mobile phones.
“The house owner is Mr. Naung Naung, a businessman with shares in Swan Htet Thar Express Bus Service. There were his subordinates and family members and only he was beat up. Then they (Pyu Saw Htee thugs) took off with the cash and mobile phones,” commented a member of Nganzun Thadin Sone, an information sharing group among Nganzun residents.
It is said that the robbed house and the police station are divided only by the high school but the junta forces did not even come to check the situation.
Moreover, residents reported that the junta council has recruited members of USDP and NUP as well as junta supporters, gave them short term military training and armed them, and they have been wreaking havoc in Nganzun Township.
Myothar is located on the Tada U-Myingyan Road and the junta forces in the town are known to threaten, inspect and extort the passenger buses.
