MYANMAR – The junta council has admitted that the border trade operations and border trade gates at the China-Myanmar border have been suspended in Chin Shwe Hao, which was surrendered by the terrorist army, and Muse, where the fighting is ongoing.
It was learned that the military council admitted this during a meeting between businessmen and the military council’s departmental staff at the meeting hall of the Customs Department in Yangon on November 9. The meeting was attended by the junta council’s Director General Thein Swe of Customs Department, Ministry of Finance and Planning, and Deputy Director General Win Lwin of Trade Department, Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
The military council has informed businessmen to conduct trade through other trading stations and sea, as the trade gates of Chin Shwe Hao and Muse 105 miles along the Myanmar-China border are suspended, so that there will be no delay in trading activities.
“Since we cannot send goods that have already obtained export licenses and approvals from Muse 105 miles and Chin Shwe Hao, we will be allowed to send them from other border stations. Also, if we want to export by sea, we will be allowed to do so. Importers will also be allowed to import through other border trade posts as well as via the sea routes if they have already obtained import license approval,” said a businessman.
