SAGAING DIVISION – Residents reported that four houses in Mindan Village, Myaung Township burned down due to junta airstrikes.
Junta planes bombed Mindan Village around 12:30 a.m. on May 5 and four houses were destroyed while four cattle were killed, according to Mr. Nway Oo (Myaung) from Civilian Defence and Security Organization Myaung (CDSOM).
The junta council has launched offensives in Myaung starting May 1 and junta forces are engaged in clashes against the revolutionary forces.
“The battle started on May 1 when they first invaded (the township). They attacked using both the navy and the air force on May 4 night. The civilians fled since they launched the offensive so there were no civilian casualties,” said Mr. Nway Oo (Myaung).
That junta column had invaded Myaung from Simekhon in Myingyan Township on May 1 and CDSOM informed that 11 junta forces have been killed during the three days of clashes.
The same column had also raided and torched the villages along the Ayeyarwaddy River in Myingyan Township during April.
