SHAN STATE – According to local residents, a villager was arrested by Pao militia – PNO/PNA on September 23rd for playing music loudly in his home in the village of Myo Hso, Lawksawk township, Southern Shan State.
The arrested villager is a man in his 20s, was not released until September 26th and was being tortured by PNO forces, a resident said.
“We asked for redemption but they didn’t release. He was not doing anything. I think it’s a modern song in the music he played. “He was tortured and severely wounded,” he said.
Residents said that the PNO/PNA forces stationed in the village of Myo Soe have threatened to arrest those who tried to ask to release the arrested villager, as well as threatened to arrest them.
The PNO/PNA forces have arrested people around the area previously for no reason and released them after asking for a large amount of money.
