MAGWAY DIVISION- Locals said that the military council troops invaded and burned down the Kyu Village, 2 elderly people died in the fire and the entire village was burnt down to ashes.
“Yesterday (January 28) at around 4:30 p.m., the junta troops raided the village of Kyu in the southern part of Yesagyo Township and burned down the houses. The fire lasted for more than four hours, and the entire village was reduced to ashes, nearly three hundred homes were burnt down,” said the residents.
“The whole village is gone. All were burnt down. It (the fire) was worsened because the wind was blowing,” said a resident.

In addition, local news reported that 2 elderly bodies were also found in the ashes.
On January 28 morning, the local revolutionary forces attacked the Pyu camp of Sinmaye village near Kyu village, and the military group was defeated. Later the junta troops invaded and burned down the Kyu village which is close to the clash area, said the locals.
Similarly, the military council army and Pyu members have been raiding Yesagyo township and villages in the Yaylelkyun area until the next day (January 29).
