SAGAING DIVISION – An official from the IDPs Support Group in Ye-U District said that some tarpaulin sheets, blankets, and food were donated to the people whose livelihoods are in trouble because the terrorist army burned down the villages in the western part of Ye U Township.
It’s been reported that 80 pieces of 15-foot-wide tarpaulin sheets, blankets, some food and money were donated to the people of Zewa Village, Ywa Mateta Village, Min Maung Gone Village, Kone Thar Village, Chan Thar Village, Ywa Thit Village and Ma Gyi Gone Village in the west side of Ye U Township.
“There are mostly elders living there. They cannot go back to the village as they could not rebuild their houses. So, they are just living in the forest without proper buildings to live in. In the evening, there is always rain and wind making the living conditions difficult for the elders. We couldn’t donate to every house that was damaged by the fire. We prioritised the families with elderly people. We need a lot of donors,” said Amay Thar from the IDPs Support Group in Ye U Township.
The Ye U Township IDPs Support Group has issued that they are trying to donate more to the remaining families affected by the fire, and requested the public to contribute as much as possible.
