MON STATE – An official from the Dawna column said that the militia leader and deputy leader of Kyone Ngyae village, Khawza Sub-township, Ye Township were arrested and examined by the PDF forces and they resisted and opened fire on each other and exchanged fire with each other.
5 people, including the leader and deputy leader of the militia of the Kyone Ngyae village were arrested by the Joint Revolutionary Forces on April 23rd, around 7:00 a.m. Total 2 M4 Carbines, 2 nine-shot smooth-bore guns, two 380 pistols, 1 short nine, one .23 short gun, 1 tumee, 4 grenades, 4 boxes of 5.56 ammo, 385 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, 47 nine- shot bullets, 50 of 380 ammo, 41 rounds of .23 ammunition, a knife, 3 walkie talkies, 2 chargers for walkie talkies, an equipment, a bottle of water and a binocular were seized.
Thus, after the arrest, the revolutionary alliance forces examined and released 3 of them, and while continuing to interrogate the militia leader and deputy leader, they took weapons and opened fire, injuring a comrade of revolution force who received a non-critical wound and returned fire, killing both militia leaders on the spot.
The leader and deputy leader of the militia who died, implemented the military service system of the junta council. It is reported that they were arrested because the people of the village complained that they were recruiting soldiers and threatening civilians with weapons. Hence, the people of the village requested PDF to arrest and take action against them.
An official from the Dawna column said that the arrest was jointly made by the People’s Defense Army’s Dawna column, Mon State Revolutionary Front (MSRF), Eagle (Dawna Line Security Division), the Kanpauk District People’s Defense Force (KBDF) – Dawna Division 4 and the Dawei Defense Team (DDT) – Dawna Division – 7.
