MON STATE – On November 25, a junta police sergeant of the Khawzar Sub-Township Police Station in Ye Township, Mon State, surrendered, bringing along his G3 rifle, two cartridges and 100 rounds of bullets, Ye Guerilla Force reported.
The former police sergeant expressed his dissatisfaction with the prevailing violence, theft, murder, and acts of terrorism committed by the police against the public. He also cited discontent with having to blindly and forcefully carry out orders from the military junta in support of a few military dictators as reasons for his surrender, describing these incidents as the driving force behind his decision.
In response to the surrender, Ye Guerilla Force warmly welcomed the former sergeant, applauding him for acknowledging the truth and choosing the right side at the opportune moment. Notably, he marks the first police troop to surrender in Ye Township.
Ye Guerilla Force issued a call urging soldiers of the terrorist military junta, non-CDM civil servants, and members of paramilitary groups to reflect on what is right or wrong and consider surrendering. They also assured that those who surrender will be guaranteed security and treated with warmth and care.
