MON STATE – Revolutionary forces raided and attacked the junta naval base at Kalargoup Island in Lamai Sub-Township, Ye Township, killing at least ten junta forces and capturing two alive, according to a revolutionary force that took part in the attack.
Revolutionary forces carried out the attack on May 3 and also managed to confiscated weapons and ammunition besides eliminating and capturing enemy junta troops.
“The team that attacked Kalargoup yesterday (May 3) was from Taungnyo Column. Three junta vehicles that were heading to reinforce Kalargoup were set on fire by NMSP-AD near Kawtchar Kawtdud. As far as we know, two junta captains were captured alive. That’s all we know for now,” said a military source from New Mon State Party (NMSP).
It is said that the fighting was intense when revolutionary forces raided the junta naval base and that the junta council carried out at least three air strikes during the battle.
