SAGAING DIVISION – Three locals from Taltheetaw Village and Khuntaunggyi Village in Shwebo Township were reportedly injured last Thursday (June 29).
Mr. Htwe and Ms. Thi Khine (in their forties) were reportedly injured in a land mine blast on their way to the farm in the western part of Taltheetaw Village at around 6 a.m. on June 29.
On the same day, around 7 a.m., 57-year-old Mr. Toe Aung from Khuntaunggyi was injured by a heavy shelling that exploded near him while he was performing a ritual in his field.
“Mr. Toe Aung was injured due to the heavy weapon shelling while he was performing a ritual. The couple from Taltheetaw was in a landmine blast and already been hospitalized,” said a local.
Due to the heavy weaponry blast, Mr. Toe Aung reportedly received shrapnel injuries in his left cheek, chest, and heel and broke his left hand, and was admitted to Shwebo Hospital.
The couple from Ttheetaw Village had shrapnel injuries in their necks, hands and feet which are not life-threatening and are currently receiving treatment at Shwebo General Hospital.
A few days ago, on June 22, two men were injured due to a landmine blast on Shwebo-Mandalay Road segment while they were practicing driving.
