SHAN STATE – In commemoration of Shan National Human Rights Day, which will fall on June 16, the Shan Human Rights Foundation will hold a discussion on the human rights situation in Shan State at 7 p.m. on June 16th.
On June 16, 1997, 57 local people were massacred in Saikhong village and Taphao village in Kunhing township during the army’s cross-cutting operation in the central Shan State, and it was designated as Shan Human Rights Day.
The talk show will discuss the people of various ethnic groups living in Shan State have suffered human rights violations by the military dictatorship for ages, and until now, various ethnic groups in Shan State are still experiencing human rights violations.
In the talk, YING LENG HARN from Shan Human Rights Foundation (SHRF), LI LI from Pa’O Youth Organization (PYO), SAI KYAW SAW from TSU, M JA SENG from Shan North Kachin Youth Group will discuss and NANG KWAN LAKE will act as Moderator.
